Keith holds a Diploma in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Media Management and Production.

Keith is the Branch Librarian at Westport Public Library.

Keith is the Mayo liaison with the Irish Film Board and promotes filmmaking in Mayo.

Keith was the founding Chairman of the Westport Food and Craft Market

Keith is a founding member of the Westport Fairtrade Committee and Westport became a Fairtrade Town in 2006.

Keith is a founding Director of WRFM Westport Community Radio WRFM 98.2.

Keith is currently campaigning for the N5 to be upgraded to Castlebar.
